"Design/ Build"...you see the term used by builders everywhere. It is the seamless process of construction in which the architect is also the builder of his or her own design. Design/ Build has been growing in popularity for many reasons, including time and cost savings, having a single point of responsibility and a consistency of interest between the design and construction, and of course there is no finger pointing or adversarial relationship that can be common in the design-bid-build process.

Of course not every builder is really the designer. More often than not, the builder simply hires out an architect of his choice, which gets away from the benefits of having the architect lead the construction team. Instead of having the tail wag the dog, when you see "Design/ Build" touted by a builder, ask if it is a true "Architect-led Design/ Build" team.

Michael Pagnotta Architecture + Construction was established in 1990 in Ship Bottom, NJ. The firm offers complete architectural services specializing in high-quality custom home design.

 

Our staff is comprised of licensed Architects, Professional Planners, Construction Managers and Realtors.


We hold  NJ registrations for both new home construction and renovations. We are NCARB Certified as architects, which allows us to provide architectural services all over the US.

 

We offer a broad range of services including conceptual design studies, presentation drawings, cost estimates and feasibility studies. In addition, we provide traditional professional services consisting of design development, and construction documents. We are completely computerized and work in .dwg or .dxf formats.

 

We are waterfront experts and have over 25 years experience in working with the state and local regulations of the Jersey Shore. We offer custom home services as well as pre-designed stock plans for any coastal community on the East Coast.


Internationally, we are the architects for several new energy-efficient self-sustaining prototypes for Roatan, one of the Bay Islands, off the coast of Honduras.

 

Since our inception, we've provided design-build services for Long Beach Island and surrounding areas. The benefits of our design-build process are many, including streamlined sequences, cost savings and great communication, which is paramount in custom residential construction.
